Detailed descriptions of basic words


Arka dictionary is not just a list of words. It has fine descriptions of basic words.
Let's see the description of aav (chain).

Ordinarily aav is made of metal. Chains are used to make necklaces. Don't forget chains that show a forbidden area.

This is the most detailed Esperanto-Japanese dictionary.


This description has word meanings but does not show any examples. It only shows some collocations.
The description is shorter than that of Arka dictionary. Many descriptions of Arka dictionary are more detailed than those of Esperanto-Japana Vortaro.
Surprisingly, Arka dictionary was written by only one person, whereas Esperanto-Japana Vortaro was written by more than 50 people.

Apartment buildings and detached houses have at least one gate. There is a garden between a house and the street. Some of Arban put an arch instead of a gate. Arban push a gate when entering.
[idiom]
galt e nene em hom. lose one's temper. It means "the gate of anger has opened". You don't need jo (anger) here because this idiom itself shows someone's anger.

You will find that Arka has unique definitions. Pordego doesn't have a definition which means a posture for martial arts.

The description is as long as that of omi (door in Arka) but it has many collocations.

What is the longest description in Arka dictionary?


It lies in dolmiyu, the theory of magic known in this world.
The description of dolmiyu has more than 50,000 words (not letters) in Japanese.
